Where the vans go
Medway is not one kind of housing and it does not move like one kind of town. What follows is what we actually plan around when a job comes in from ME7 or ME8.
Half of Gillingham is Victorian or inter-war terrace, and most of it has no driveway. Barnsole Road, Nelson Road, the streets running off Canterbury Street — a Luton will not sit outside all morning without a word to the council first. We check the road, apply for a suspension where one is needed, and tell you honestly if we will be shuttling from the end of the street instead.
Hempstead and Wigmore are a different job entirely. Wide roads, private drives, garages and lofts holding a decade of things nobody has opened. Parkwood and Twydall bring narrow cul-de-sac entrances and shared bays. The van we send depends on which of those you live in, not on which van happens to be free.
The blocks above and behind the High Street mostly mean stairs, a communal door someone has to hold, and a landing that will not take a sofa on its side. We survey the access before the day rather than discovering it with a wardrobe halfway up.
Gillingham Business Park and the units towards Medway City Estate move out of hours more often than not. IT gets crated and labelled by desk, the server cabinet comes down last and goes in first, and the building manager gets the paperwork they will ask for. You open in the new unit, not in a stack of unmarked boxes.
A first flat in Gillingham with a car boot of belongings is a real job and we quote it as one. So is the four-bed in Rainham with a piano and a shed. Different crews, different vans, same answer to the phone.
The A2 runs along the top of the town and the M2 picks up at junctions 3 and 4, which is what makes Medway workable for longer moves — down the M20 for the Channel, round the M25 for anywhere north or west. If your move leaves Kent, that is the route it takes.

Start with a quoteA list is enough to start — rooms, rough furniture, anything awkward. We will usually want to see it, either on a video walk-round or in person, because a wardrobe that comes apart and one that does not are two different jobs.
Both ends. Road width, parking, stairs, lift, whether the front door takes a three-seater. Where a bay suspension is needed we sort it. You get a written quote setting out the crew, the van, the materials and what is included.
Same crew from the first box to the last. Furniture blanketed, boxes labelled by room, beds rebuilt where you want them. Nothing is signed off until you have walked the place and said you are happy.

ME7 and ME8 are home ground. We reach the rest of Medway and most of north Kent from the same yard — and Chatham has its own removal firms who know that side of the river better than we do, so we will say if you are better off with one.

Leaving the country
Medway sits well for a European move — the M2 at junction 3 or 4, the M20 down to the Channel, and you are on the other side before most people have left the M25. We run road moves out to four countries and handle the customs paperwork with them.

Both. ME7 and ME8 are our core patch — Gillingham, Rainham, Hempstead, Wigmore, Twydall and Parkwood. We work across the rest of Medway and north Kent as well, and we will tell you plainly if a job is better suited to a firm based closer to it.
Volume, distance, access and how much packing you want us to do. Access is the one people forget: a second-floor flat with no lift takes longer than a bungalow with the same amount of furniture. We look at both ends before quoting, so the figure you get is the figure you pay.
Yes. Where the road needs a bay suspension we apply to Medway Council on your behalf and factor the lead time into the plan. Some streets simply will not take a Luton, in which case we shuttle with a smaller van and tell you that up front rather than on the morning.
As standard on house moves. Beds, wardrobes, flat-pack units, table legs off and back on. If something was built in place and will not come apart safely, we will say so at survey rather than trying it with the clock running.
It often does. Tell us as soon as you know and we will rebook. If the two dates no longer meet, containerised storage covers the gap and your things stay inventoried while they wait.
