What a flat move includes
The same standard as a house move, sized down: furniture blanketed in the room, boxes labelled by room, beds and flat-pack dismantled and rebuilt, floor runners on shared hallways because communal carpet is somebody else's problem until it is yours. If you want us to pack, we pack. If you want boxes dropped off a week early, we do that instead.
We also clear up after ourselves, which sounds like a small thing until you have moved out of a flat and had the deposit queried over a hallway full of flattened cardboard.
Renting, and the deposit
A good share of flat moves in ME7 and ME8 are rentals. If there is an inventory check booked for that morning, tell us — it changes the order we work in. We would rather load the van and be out of the way before the agent arrives than have the two overlapping in a narrow hall.

Flat moves — what people ask
Do I need to tell the block manager we are moving?
Usually yes, and sometimes the lease requires it. Lifts often need booking and some blocks restrict moving hours. Ask early — finding out on the morning is the most common reason a flat move starts late.
My sofa came in before I had the new carpet fitted. Will it come out?
Probably, but not necessarily the same way. We look at the door swing, the hall width and the stair turn. Some sofas come apart at the back and go out flat; some genuinely do not fit any more. Better to know at survey.
Can you move a one-bed flat in a single trip?
Most of the time. It depends on the furniture more than the floor area — a one-bed with a corner sofa, a double wardrobe and a bike collection is not a one-trip job. We size the van to what we have actually seen.
Is a flat move cheaper than a house move?
Not automatically. Less volume usually means less time, but four flights of stairs can wipe that out entirely. Quotes are built from volume, access and distance together, never volume alone.
