Office removals in Gillingham that do not cost you a trading day

Commercial moves across Medway — Gillingham Business Park, the units towards Medway City Estate, shops and studios. Surveyed, coded, moved out of hours, working on Monday.

An office move is not a big house move. The furniture is easier and the consequences are worse. Nobody minds if a sofa arrives an hour late; everybody minds if the phones are dead on Monday morning because the comms cabinet went in the wrong van. So commercial removals in Gillingham get run as a sequence, with a plan that somebody signed off, and with the building manager told in advance.

  1. Survey Stage one

We walk both buildings with whoever owns the decision

Desk count, server cabinet, storage, anything on a lease. We note the loading arrangements at each end, the lift capacity, and what the building manager will and will not allow. The plan comes out of that walk, not out of a template.

  2. Plan Stage two

A numbered floor plan and a labelling scheme

Every desk, cabinet and machine gets a code that matches a position in the new unit. Crates are labelled to the code. Nobody spends the first morning back asking where their monitor went.

  3. Move Stage three

Out of hours, in one run where we can

Most Business Park moves happen on a Friday evening or across a Saturday. IT is crated and cable-bagged, screens are sleeved, the server cabinet comes down last so it goes in first at the other end.

  4. Set down Stage four

    Positioned, not dumped

Furniture goes to the coded position, crates are set at the right desk, and we clear the packaging before we leave. You come in on Monday to a unit you can work in.

Gillingham Business Park and the units around it

The Business Park sits north of the A2 with reasonable access off the main roads, which makes evening and weekend moves genuinely workable — the loading areas are quiet once the working day is over. The smaller units towards the river and the Medway City Estate side are tighter, and some of them share a yard, so the timing matters more. We look at that on the survey and build the window around it.

What a commercial quote covers

Crew and vehicles, crates and materials, the labelling scheme, the move window, and what happens to anything you are not taking. It sets out the scope in writing so there is no argument later about whether dismantling the meeting table was included. What it will not contain is a number pulled from a price list — commercial moves vary far too much for that to be honest.

Businesses leaving the country

Occasionally a business move goes further than Kent. If you are relocating equipment or office contents to Europe, the European removals hub sets out how a road move from Medway runs and what customs will want to see. Household moves are covered on the house removals page.

Office moves — questions from the people who sign it off

Can you move us without closing for a day?

That is the usual arrangement. Out-of-hours and weekend moves are standard for us and most businesses on Gillingham Business Park do it that way. We agree the window with you and with the building manager before anything is booked.

Do you handle the IT?

We crate and transport it — machines, screens, cabling bagged and labelled by desk, the comms cabinet handled separately. Decommissioning and recommissioning the network is a job for your IT people or ours working alongside them; we will coordinate with whoever that is.

What paperwork will our landlord want?

Most managed buildings ask for insurance details and a method statement, and some want a risk assessment for the lift or the loading bay. Tell us who the building manager is and we will send them what they need before the day.

Can you store furniture we are not taking?

Yes. A lot of office moves shed desks and cabinets. We can take the surplus into containerised storage while you decide, or move it on to wherever you want it to go.

Do you move shops and workshops as well as offices?

Yes. Retail units, studios, small workshops — the constraints are different but the principle is the same: survey it, label it, move it in a window that does not cost you trade.

Planning an office move in Medway?

Send us the two addresses, the desk count and your ideal window. We will arrange a survey and put a scope together.
